A few months ago while on a [San Francisco vacation](http://eecue.com/log_archive/eecue-log-1026-San_Francisco_Vacation_Photos.html) with my lovely wife [Penelope](http://peneloper.com/), I took a tour of [Livermore Lab's](https://www.llnl.gov/) [National Ignition Facility](https://lasers.llnl.gov/). NIF is an amazing experiment designed to create fusion using lasers. As you've probably noticed, I love lasers and robots, and NIF employs both to get its job done. The [NIF gallery just went up on Wired.com](http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2009/05/gallery_nif). It uses the new gallery format which allows for bigger pictures and the ability to [view the whole thing at once](http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2009/05/gallery_nif?currentPage=all). NIF is probably the coolest thing I have ever photographed.
