This is a deep-sky astrophotography image of M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy, processed using a narrowband SHO palette composite. The face-on spiral galaxy displays its characteristic pinwheel structure with well-defined spiral arms in pink and purple hues against the dark space background. The narrowband imaging technique using Sulfur-II, Hydrogen-alpha, and Oxygen-III filters reveals intricate details of star-forming regions and nebulosity within the galaxy. A smaller companion galaxy is visible in the upper right corner of the frame. The image was captured from a backyard observatory using specialized astrophotography equipment.
