Solar Chromosphere in Hydrogen-Alpha Light

This exceptional hydrogen-alpha solar image reveals the Sun's chromosphere in remarkable detail, captured at 656.3nm wavelength using a Lunt LS60THa 60mm f/8.3 double-stacked Ha telescope. Across the solar disk, numerous dark filaments — long, sinuous channels of cool plasma suspended in the corona — snake dramatically across the surface, particularly prominent in the central and lower regions. A notable solar prominence is visible erupting beyond the limb on the upper-left edge, arching gracefully above the chromosphere. The granular texture of the chromosphere is rendered with superb clarity thanks to a multi-exposure HDR lucky-imaging stack with 2x drizzle processing, using a ZWO ASI585MM monochrome camera on a Sky-Watcher EQ6 tracking mount. The image is presented in a classic golden-amber false-color palette typical of hydrogen-alpha solar photography.
