A large machine with a pipe inside of it, used for manufacturing and constructed as part of the architecture of the factory. The workshop is filled with various machines and tools, including this wheel-powered lathe. Taken during a Wired magazine visit to the National Ignition Facility in San Francisco, February 2009.
