This wide-field astrophotography image captures the Milky Way galaxy arcing across the night sky above Mount Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California. The galactic core is visible as a diffuse, luminous band stretching from the upper center toward the right side of the frame, with dense star fields and dark dust lanes clearly resolved. Tree silhouettes are faintly visible in the upper right corner, grounding the celestial scene with a terrestrial element. A faint satellite trail is visible as a short horizontal streak on the left side of the image. The photograph was taken with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II and RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens, capturing thousands of individual stars against an exceptionally dark sky.
