Great Blue Heron Hunting in Wetland Marsh
Sunday, April 26th, 2026 at 10:58:49 PM · 2026/Yolo Bypass Wetlands
A majestic Great Blue Heron wades through shallow wetland waters dotted with cut reed stubble. The bird's distinctive blue-grey plumage and long neck are clearly visible as it stands among patches of dry grass and emergent vegetation. Behind the heron, tall green reeds create a natural backdrop, while two smaller birds can be seen foraging in the middle distance. The wetland appears to be in a transitional state with both water and exposed mudflats, typical of managed wildlife areas.
