A Common Shelduck is captured foraging in a shallow puddle within a muddy grassland area. The duck is bent forward with its head submerged in the water, displaying its characteristic plumage pattern of a glossy black head, chestnut breast band, and cream-white body. The bird's orange-red legs are visible as it stands in the shallow water. The surrounding habitat shows flooded grassland with sparse vegetation stubble, typical of wetland areas during wet season or spring flooding. Small birds can be seen in the distant background on the muddy field.
