Diablo using a Canon EOS R6 Mark II with a 100-500mm lens and 2x extender, captures a compressed perspective of the East Bay hills looking westward toward the Bay Area flatlands. Dense residential development climbs the heavily wooded hillsides, with homes scattered among trees, characteristic of cities like Oakland or Berkeley. In the lower portion of the frame, a freeway interchange, commercial buildings, and what appears to be a transit or rail corridor are visible through the haze. The entire scene is heavily degraded by atmospheric haze and possible wildfire smoke or smog, giving the image a muted, almost monochromatic blue-gray palette. The upper hills transition to dry, golden-brown grassland typical of California's summer dry season.
