Wizard Nebula NGC 7380 in Hubble Palette Narrowband

This is a narrowband image of the Wizard Nebula (NGC 7380), an emission nebula located approximately 7,200 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus, captured using the SHO (Sulfur II, Hydrogen-alpha, Oxygen III) Hubble palette. The iconic flame-like golden and orange tones represent ionized sulfur and hydrogen-alpha emissions, while the striking blue-white core reveals oxygen III emission from the energetic young star cluster NGC 7380 embedded within. A dark nebula — a region of dense, light-absorbing dust — is dramatically visible in the upper right quadrant, silhouetted against the glowing nebulosity. The image was acquired over 2.2 hours of total integration time using a TMB-92 Signature Series APO refractor and ZWO ASI533MM Pro monochrome camera, with processing via Python and Syqon Starless AI star removal. The result is an exceptionally detailed and aesthetically rich portrayal of this active star-forming region.
