A spectacular view of Upper Yosemite Fall streaming down between towering vertical granite cliff faces. The waterfall appears as a narrow white ribbon against the dark, textured rock walls that show distinctive columnar jointing patterns. Patches of white snow cling to the rock face, and scattered pine trees crown the cliff tops against a deep blue sky. The mist from the waterfall creates a subtle spray effect at the base, giving the lower portion a slightly brownish tint from rock sediment.
