Green Sea Anemone Exposed at Low Tide

A giant green anemone (Anthopleura xanthogrammica) is captured partially exposed in a shallow tide pool, its pale white-green tentacles splayed outward as the low tide has left it temporarily out of full submersion. The anemone's vivid green column contrasts beautifully against the wet rock and shallow water. Surrounding the scene are colorful mixed pebbles and small stones typical of Pacific Northwest or Northern California beaches, along with fragments of dark kelp and green sea lettuce. The image was taken from above looking down, giving an intimate bird's-eye perspective into the intertidal zone ecosystem.
