Six Degrees Festival

I saw an add in Jointz Mag the other day about a music / fashion / art festival in Downtown LA called the Six Degrees Festival. The show features a couple Ninja Tune artists, the Breakestra, Phoreyz and more, looks pretty cool despite the flash website. Here is some info from the press release [1.2MB pdf]:

  • Zone 1 hosts a film festival that will include short films, documentaries, and video art. The film festival will contain a 50x30 foot screen with high-powered projectors showcasing short film and video from local and international independent artists.
  • Zone 2 contains an eight-designer fashion show event with a 44-foot long runway and tailored lighting featuring independent LA fashion vendors selling clothing and accessories.
  • Zone 3 presents visitors with a large sound stage exhibiting LA’s top musical acts featuring Breakestra, The Rebirth, J Boogies and Dubtronic Science
  • Zone 4 is home to a freshly built 400 linear foot gallery space, featuring eight of LA’s hottest art galleries including Transport Gallery, Lab 101, Cannibal Flower, the Hive, Selah, Walled City and others.
  • Zone 5 features a second music stage with more of LA’s top musical acts, featuring a wide variety of D.J.s. B+, Nobody, Dusk and others will play along with performance artists specializing in aerial performances, fire dancing, and trapeze.
  • The last and final area of The Six Degrees Festival will be hosted outside in front of the venue with vehicles done by local artists, designers, and Burning Man affiliates showcasing custom-made art cars.
